The TPJ Fly Racing team travelled to New Berlin, New York for the Unadilla National – one of the final rounds of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series.

This week, the TPJ Fly Racing team had Dustin Pipes, John Short and Blane Silveira back for another exciting round at the races.

We had also hoped to see Dylan Merriam with us this week, but an unfortunate practice crash earlier in the week resulted in two broken ribs and has put Merriam out for the remainder of the season.

Unadilla sported a beautiful backdrop and a great track – but was quickly overtaken by thunderstorms. In between gusts, the TPJ Fly Racing athletes were all able to qualify for the main event.

Tunnamed.jpghe team ‘rookie’ Blane Silveira qualified 28th overall and went on to the main with both Pipes and Short.

The first moto was shortened due to the storms, and as the day went on conditions turned into an all out mud race. John Short blasted through the conditions to finish 20th overall in the 450 class, and Silveira achieved his season-best finish at 30th place overall in the 250 class. Dustin Pipes was able to wrangle a 35th overall in the 450 group, but sustained a season-ending wrist injury.

As the season comes to a close, we are working with our small team to help propel them higher through the ranks in the final few rounds. We are extremely grateful to the companies and fans who have stuck behind us and supported us through the highs and the lows of the 2017 race season.
