Usable Fuel and Installation Notes
Because of the EFI fuel-pump mounting location, usable fuel varies with riding conditions and fuel movement. The tank accepts 3.5 gallons; aggressive riding may use approximately 99% of that volume, while less aggressive riding may leave more fuel on the left side when the level is low.
Clearance: On some motorcycles, a triple-clamp or lower clamp bolt may contact the tank at full steering lock. Follow IMS guidance for button-head bolts and the supplied protective foam. An aftermarket Trail Tech radiator fan may require relocation; if adequate clearance cannot be achieved, IMS recommends the smaller 2.8-gallon tank.
