The EXP 4.0 base uses an upgraded material designed to provide improved strength in high-temperature environments created by clutch operation. Its redesigned internal wall improves strength and rigidity, helping produce a more connected lever feel. The outer EXP disk uses friction pads based on the proprietary friction design found in Rekluse TorqDrive clutch plates, matching the oil flow characteristics of the clutch pack to promote improved cooling capability and consistent operation.
The EXP 4.0 wedge design uses built-in pins and rolling contact instead of sliding contact along ramps. This reduces friction and resistance, supporting smoother engagement, a more responsive feel, and stronger power delivery. The redesigned engagement curve is also updated to better match modern motorcycle engine characteristics.
