Anaheim, Ca – January 18, 2020 A full truck makes Ted Parks (and all of you) very happy, and that’s just what we had at Round 3 of the Monster Energy Supercross in Anaheim, Ca. Three 450SX team riders and three 250SX riders each back with their sights set on putting in a solid ride, making the night show and ultimately progressing on to the Main Event. The season started off rough, but our riders don’t quit and they proved that this past weekend.
450SX
Jimmy Weeks returned to racing for Round 3 after being out to do illness; still not fully recovered Weeks failed to qualify for the evening program. He’s hopeful that he will be 100% for Glendale SX this weekend. Dylan Merriam looked good in the first qualifying practice of the day with a 57.600 lap time; placing him 38th overall and guaranteeing him a spot in the night show. Unfortunately, a crash during that same practice session resulted in a broken left collarbone and multiple ribs. Merriam will be out 3-4 weeks. Austin Politelli has had a pretty smooth season so far, his best result has been 1 spot shy of the Main Event; but he’s confident that will be changing here soon.
250SX
Blaine Silveira made his 2020 SX debut this past weekend and said “Can’t complain (about the results), made the night show and finished all the laps which was the goal”. We’re excited he’s back and know that we will continue to see him progress. Corbin Hayes returned as well, and was all smiles the entire weekend even during some trying times. According to Hayes, “minutes before the second qualifying session took off…realized my subframe was snapped in half.” A quick fire drill turn around to swap parts was successful and Hayes made it to the track on time and set his fastest lap of the day.
